Gallery of Women's Football Teams
Women's Football Home
During the course of my research I have come across a number of photographs of early women's football teams, many of which appear as illustrations to my articles on women's football. This page displays the better quality images in the collection, in date order. There are currently 77 images, covering the period 1895 - 1952. I have tried to keep the resolution as high as possible, so the page may take some time to download, depending upon the speed of your internet connection
All of the images on display are either: (a) taken from original [out of copyright] prints, (b) are reproduced with the express permission of the owners, or (c) are taken from websites which do not impose restrictions on copying. In the latter two cases the sources are acknowledged.
If anyone has a photograph which might enhance the collection I would be very grateful for a copy.
